Our Top Five Teas For Cold and Flu Season

Winter is now upon us! Winter can be a welcome respite from the heat. On a cold day, there is nothing better than a nice hot cup of tea. Here are some of our favourite teas to get you through the cold and flu season.

Licorice Root

One of the world's oldest plants, licorice root, has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments.

Tea with licorice root can help with upper respiratory infections. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe the lungs and open airways.

Licorice root may also help relieve acid reflux and indigestion.

Blueberry Tea

Blueberry tea is a popular tea in the countries that form rituals around tea. Blueberry tea is made from the leaves of the blueberry plant and takes the place of regular tea leaves.

Blueberries are a superfood and have an abundance of benefits. Blueberry tea contains:

● Vitamin C

● Potassium

● Magnesium

● Vitamin K

● Fiber

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant for colds. It can help boost the immune system and help you get over a cold faster.

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine. It is one of the most beneficial spices for your health and is known for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Ginger is good when you have the stomach flu. Several studies have concluded that ginger can help with nausea. If you have stomach flu, ginger can help settle your stomach and relieve nausea.

Tea With Lemon and Honey

Another good old fashion remedy when you're sick is to brew a cup of tea (of your choice) and add lemon and honey. Tea naturally has antioxidants and lemon has Vitamin C to help you fight your cold.

Honey not only has anti-bacterial properties but also soothes a sore throat.

Turmeric Tea

You might not think about turmeric when you are sick, but turmeric is high in antioxidants and is a potent anti-inflammatory.

The main compound in turmeric, curcumin, can help you strengthen your immune system to help you get over your cold or flu faster. Because curcumin is an anti-inflammatory, it also helps respiratory issues because it helps open up the airways in the lungs.

Our natural tonics and non-alcoholic healthy drinks can help you get through the cold and flu season.

Rochester Ginger (immune boosting, nausea relief)

Turmeric Tonic (Curcumin for immune-boosting and soothing congestion)

Our tonics can be mixed with hot water to make a delicious and soothing tea. Colds and flu are a normal part of the winter season. Try making tea with our tonics to help you fight illness and get back on your feet faster.
